Christmas

Toy by Moschino

Introducing Moschino Toy, the debut fragrance by Jeremy Scott for Moschino.
For the launch of the first Moschino
fragrance under his creative direction, Jeremy Scott has chosen a bottle that embodies an iconic element of the brand: the teddy bear. An unusual emblem in the world of perfumery, Jeremy Scott’s teddy bear gives this unique product a universally recognisable face which is both captivating and timeless.

Moschino Toy wears his very own Moschino T-Shirt “THIS IS NOT A MOSCHINO TOY” and comes in a toy carton box revealing the cute and adorable bear.

The fragrance is a citrus woody floral with top notes of mandarin, juniper berries, cardamom and bergamot. Violet, hawthorn petals and lavender come together in a floral heart, while base notes of tree moss, cedarwood, sandalwood and vanilla beans create a warm finish.

Liqueur Charnelle by Huitieme Art

The five major aromas that give Cognac its unique flavor are vanilla, prune, caramel, orange and apricot… while the nose detects floral and fruity notes in its bouquet, such as dried linden blossom, vine blossom, dry vine shoots and pressed grape with hints of violet and vanilla.

Inspired by this cornucopia of fragrances, Liqueur Charnelle is a voluptuous, deeply sensual accord in which the perfumer offers a “cognac bouquet” of spices, blond tobacco and powdery woods. Suave and vibrant pink pepper, elemi and black pepper enhance tonka bean and raspberry notes…

Warm and sexy, this is a rich powdery scent with tart notes as well as spice and oak. Quite complex and pleasing.

Doe in the Snow

Doe in the Snow was made for a special occasion one January, for a very special customer. It’s inspired by the fruity chypre fragrances of the 1960s and 70s, but with a layer of frost. Citrus fruits, flowers and woods, stirred with an icicle. Imagine a tall, elegant woman, dressed in red and white velvet, but at ground level, she’s wearing her wellington boots so her feet don’t get cold and wet. Graceful, yet practical.

Top notes: grapefruit, cedrat, yuzu, peach aldehyde, snow, Heart notes: cedarwood, rose, jasmine, oak. Base notes: opoponax, oakmoss, leather, green tea absolute.

Sharpish watery citrus with rose and white florals and sweet woody notes which seem to lead to a slight fougère note on the skin. My Mother tried this and she did say that this did actually had a touch of retro about it reminding her of Ma Griffe.

Tabu by Dana

Tabu was the first fragrance of the House of Dana. It was created in by 1932 by genius perfumer Jean Carles.

It is said in Carles’ brief from Dana founder, Javier Serra, he was tasked with creating a perfume for woman of the oldest and most taboo profession; ‘un parfum de puta’.

Tabu, the resulting fragrance was a rich, dark earthy, head-turning fragrance, full of spice with only the most subtle of floral nuances. A favourite of the glamorous Hollywood set and was worn by sultry stars Ava Gardner, Dorothy Danridge and Gina Lollobrigida. Tabu as a fragrance is pansexual, too big to be gender specific, smelling as it does of raw sensuality, as such it was and is also worn by the daring male.
Top: Bergamot, Orange, Neroli, Coriander, Spice Notes. Middle: Clove Bud, Ylang-ylang, Rose Oriental, Jasmine, Narcissus, Clover. Base: Patchouli, Civet, Cedar, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Amber, Musk, Oakmoss.

Simply the heritage behind this fragrance makes you want to give it a try. A deeply feminine oriental aromatic woody base with highlights of citrus, rose and spice. Ingredients that were hugely popular in the 30's and 40's with an inheritance that perfumers are still using today it has got to go in the collection of anyone that loves the true classics.
